Let’s go straight to the action in this new tutorial about how to draw a carton race car.
This cartoon drawing is inspired by a Ferrari 333, a race car from 20 years ago. It is a predecessor to the endurance race cars like the one on the Le Mans prototype drawing we did a couple of weeks ago.
First, draw the wheels of course. The rear wheel is bigger than the front wheel. Make the wheelbase very short for it to look kinda crazy and cartoonish.
Next we’ll draw the body. Make the overhangs very short. The ground clearance is not too low on this one. Notice the inclination toward the front. The rear end is high and the front end is low.
For the third step draw a high air intake at the middle of the car and a small windscreen at the front. You can look for pictures of the car (Ferrari 333) on google so you understand a little bit more the air intake. It’s centered, just behind the driver. That’s why it looks like a half cabin front the side.
Now draw a rear wing and a mini front splitter. Just draw a very small wedge at the front and you have a splitter.
The fifth step is to draw the fuel cap. A side air intake and the headlight.
The sixth step is to draw the rims, the headlamps and a dude wearing a helmet, the driver, of course.
This is how you draw a cartoon race car very easily.
